Made Human

Pure instinct. Pure Emotion. Pure thought.

Emotion comes first.

It is where every Emotion begins, before thought interferes, before judgement arrives, before the mind has time to soften the truth into something more acceptable.

To me, that is where Art is most honest: in the unguarded moment when feeling becomes expression.

The works within The Emotional Wheel are painted in acrylic on canvas, without prescribed rules or formal technique. The process is deliberately instinctive and childlike, closer to doodling than demonstrating mastery. It is the freedom to make a mark simply because something within me needs to move.

Mistakes are allowed to remain. They are evidence of the hand that made them, imperfect, vulnerable and human.

In a world increasingly shaped by technology, advancing at an almost unimaginable speed, the physical mark matters more, not less. A brushstroke carries hesitation, force, tenderness and error. It records a moment that cannot be perfectly repeated.

Painting allows me to step inside an Emotion instead of hiding from it. I remain there for as long as the work asks me to, feeling it, embracing it and learning to love it.

Because the Emotion is part of me.

And I choose to love all of me: the person I am, the child I once was, and the inner child who still lives within me.

Perhaps, somewhere within the work, yours is waiting too.

Made physical. Made imperfect. Made human.
